Ross Costanza Photography had the honor of photographing Michelle and Adem’s summer wedding at The Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.

Michelle and Adem are one of those couples that have become very dear to us, and we couldn’t be happier to finally have their gorgeous wedding here on the blog. Their day was exactly what you would envision for a hot summer’s evening. Guests entered through an ivy and brick archway and were greeted by a cute little guy handing out the wedding programs. A homemade guest book sat upon an antique drawer chest for their friends and family to leave well wishes, and right beside it were the most beautiful favors of live succulents. Everyone mingled around the open lawn where fun outdoor games and a cozy lounge area of Victorian couches had been placed to make them feel right at home. All the while, in a separate garden formed of knock-out roses and green ivy, Michelle and Adem had planned a romantic “first look”. This was the perfect time for them to spend a quiet moment together before the festivities officially commenced.

As their guests made their way to their seats, the bridal party lined up for their grand entrance. The altar was a tall, oak tree with green garland wrapped around the trunk. Michelle looked stunning as she proceeded down the aisle. Before reaching Adem, she placed an honorary rose on the front seat in memory of her loving mother. The ceremony itself was a beautiful reflection of love and the uniting of their sweet family.

One of our favorite parts about their day was that they wanted to spend extra time alone with each other, basking in their love and the vows they had just made. They invited us to join them in various areas around the property to capture these special moments. From the hidden gardens and waterfront sunset to the magical twinkle lights hanging from the Hermitage Museum’s landmark Magnolia tree, their portraits have become some of our all-time favorites!

The reception decor embraced a rustic charm with a combination of farm tables, beautiful florals, and fine china. Their guests enjoyed dancing and celebrating, as well as having a blast in the photo booth. Michelle’s son, Gabe, was so brave to get up in front of everyone and give an awesome toast to the bride and groom. At the end of the night, their guests waved goodbye as they drove off in a classic Rolls Royce getaway.
