Sometimes, what starts as a spark of an idea turns into a blazing wildfire of awesomeness when introduced to the perfect minds. This was exactly the case with this combination bridal and boudoir styled shoot at the area’s newest venue, The Flyway Lodge in Knotts Island, North Carolina.
Ross and Jess have long wanted to incorporate the bridal element into their boudoir portfolio, while also giving a small glimpse behind-the-scenes to diffuse some of the misconceptions that go along with this style of photography. When Ross approached several of our favorite local vendors about the idea, they helped turn this brief thought into a phenomenal full-blown photo shoot!
Ashley McAchran, owner of Studio I Do at All the Rage, was such an instrumental part in helping mold this idea into a true masterpiece. Her primary goal was to show how various elements of bridal fashion can be incorporated into a special boudoir session to capture this magical time in a bride’s life. From gown overlays and dresses that emulate lingerie to the wedding day accessories such as shoes, garter, fur coat, veil and belt, there are so many pieces that have the ability to enhance both the femininity and sensuality of a bride’s final moments before walking down the aisle. Add in the gorgeous and intricate floral design by Chief and Debbie Pence with Fluttering Flowers, and you have a winning combination for bridal beauty!
With every boudoir session and event photographed through Ross Costanza Photography, the value placed on the initial makeover is extremely important. It is not only a transformation physically, but it is also an empowering experience for any woman to be glammed up and fussed over! Ross and Jess teamed up with the incredible Stephanie McDonald with FLAWLESS on Site and Leah Laviano with BlushTones to bring the bridal look to life. Their attention to detail, dedication to enhancing natural beauty, and their wonderfully laid back personalities always set our clients at ease as they prepare for their session. Even through the high winds and cold temperatures of this particular day, the hair and makeup stayed firmly in place!
