Ross Costanza Photography had the distinct honor of photographing Daphne and Bobby’s gorgeous destination wedding at the Blue Waters Resort in Antigua.
From the moment we first saw Daphne and Bobby pull into our driveway on their bicycles for our first meeting, we knew that they were going to be the kind of couple we LOVE to work with! Full of energy and adventure, planning a destination wedding perfectly fit their personalities and contagious love for life. It was important to them to create a whole experience for their family, all while celebrating their love and commitment to one another. We truly felt included as part of the family as we sat with their parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren around the dinner table at the rehearsal dinner. Everyone was full of excitement, not only to be in this beautiful paradise enjoying the activities and amenities, but mostly to celebrate the main event that would be unfolding the next day. Laughter and chatter were heard around the table as everyone ate. Toasts and words of gratitude were given, and then everyone parted ways to get a good night’s rest.
Daphne and Bobby’s big day arrived and it couldn’t have been more beautiful! The sun was shining and the tropical foliage was as vibrant as could be. When we arrived at the Blue Waters Spa to meet Daphne, she and her daughter, Chelsea, were relaxing and enjoying their time of pampering. Bobby eventually made his way over and they individually opened their gifts to one another. They had made a special request to spend a few moments together, sight-unseen, before the ceremony where they would also exchange letters. It was a uniquely significant moment for them and helped relax their nerves before saying their “I dos”.
The ceremony was absolutely PERFECT with tons of smiles and laughter. It was immediately followed by the cake cutting, and my personal favorite, the dove release! Their loved ones celebrated and threw flower petals in the air as Bobby dipped his stunning bride and sealed the moment with a kiss. They all headed to the reception where the steel drum band played tunes of the Caribbean. After dinner, Daphne and Bobby shared their first dance as husband and wife, which had been choreographed with a dip as the grand finale. Everyone spent the rest of the evening dancing and laughing. A few people, including the groom, ended the night by diving into the pool fully clothed!
To end this amazing trip, we photographed a day-after session with the bride and groom. Daphne and Bobby dressed in their wedding attire one last time and we ventured around the resort finding fun spots to capture some creative images. Although we ended up trapped under a beach umbrella during a rain storm for about an hour, we still managed to use the stormy sky as the perfect backdrop for some dramatic photographs.
Our time spent with this incredible couple and their family on this destination wedding was something we will forever remember and cherish. We truly wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, love, and new adventures! Congrats to the Thomases!
