Ross Costanza Photography had the most amazing time photographing Amanda and Josh’s gorgeous wedding at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia.

When Amanda and Josh first reached out to us about their wedding, we were SO excited about the opportunity to be part of their big day. Amanda was actually Ross’ neighbor growing up, so working with her sweet family during this special time was a tremendous honor. From what she told us about her plans, we knew everything would be beautiful. However, as the details really began to take shape, we realized that this would be a day that exceeded our every expectation.

Upon arriving at the venue, the atmosphere itself took our breath away. Rolling hills, rustic barns, and a bright sun piercing through the clouds painted the perfect picture for Amanda and Josh’s dream wedding. We knew from the weather report that unfavorable conditions were on the horizon, so all we could do was hope and pray for good opportunities and timing. The ladies spent the morning getting ready in the cutest little cottage on the vineyard property. Spirits were high as they sipped their wine, sang oldies music at the top of their lungs, and jumped on the bed. The time came for Amanda to slip into her wedding gown and finish her bridal look with lots of sparkle and pearls. She then stepped into the main living area for her best gals to see her for the first time completely dolled up! A range of emotions filled the room; both excited laughter and happy tears. They gathered to quickly pray with her before she was whisked away to exchange love letters and gifts with her hubby-to-be.

Her matron of honor gathered up the many layers of Amanda’s gown as they trekked down a hill and up to a large, wooden barn that sat atop a mountain. Amanda and Josh spent this special moment talking and laughing with each other from their individual sides of the wide barn opening. Little did they realize, they both had the same perfect gift in mind for one another, personalized Bibles that would be the foundation of the very journey on which they would soon embark. They parted ways to get in place for the ceremony, which would soon begin.

Walking into the main room where the festivities would soon take place, it was evident that much work had gone into creating a sense of warmth and romance. Their wedding decor was filled with rich hues of wine-colored blooms intermingled with soft blushes and whites, and accented with gorgeous greenery, making the perfect color palette. Wine barrels, farm tables, lanterns, and hundreds of candles surrounded the room as cozy fires billowed in the stone fireplaces on either side. Our personal favorite was the fun and delicious donut bar that replaced the traditional wedding cake! I’m not going to lie, we made a few visits to “check out” this particular spot throughout the evening.

The ceremony itself was absolutely stunning. Laughter, worship, and a family prayer left a stamp of gratitude on the hearts of everyone in attendance. Amanda and Josh recited their vows and sealed their love with a kiss. After the ceremony, the weather turned south but, with a little St. Paddy’s Day luck, we ended up with the most magical DOUBLE rainbow! We rushed the newlywed couple outside and ended up with one of our favorite images in ten years of photographing weddings. We may have gotten a tad wet from the rain, but this single image will forever be a reminder of God’s promises and blessings for this devoted couple.

We are beyond thrilled for Amanda and Josh as they start their new life together!
